I use a 16:9 slide show picture frame, which is great for wallpapers but not so good for photos. The result is square or skinny pictures are stretched to fit the frame.

A Slideshow 1.0. Require rainmeter 4+. A lightweight image slideshow skin, for your family photos. Settings in Resource\settings.inc. Other slideshow skin use custom transition animation, which is very performance taxing (sometime freeze rainmeter/input delay for duration of the animation).
